    Accuracy of Book Profile

Book profile should provide more information on the plot and the many interesting and unusual turns of this narrative.

    Draw of Story

The first thing I noticed about this narrative is the quality of the writing and, even living a fairly dull life in the beginning, Walker is interesting enough to keep the reader hooked with his wit and critical observations of those around him.

    Possible Drawbacks

Nothing made me want to put the book down.

    Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

    Primary Hook of Story

I would watch this movie because it is a very original structure for a historical drama. The way the author blends in the reality of a contemporaneous man into the mind of a man from a different time is sure to involve the audience, who can relate directly to the protagonist.

    Fanbase Potential

It could have a large fanbase because the protagonist is relatable and makes for a great contemporaneous American hero.

    Awards Potential

This narrative definitely has awards potential because settings are varied, plot is enticing and writing is exquisite, plenty of room for actors and art directors to do great work.

    Envisioned Budget

    LARGE BUDGET

    What’s New About the Story

The most original thing about this story is certainly how the author uses the watch as a tool to encourage a deeper reflection on empathy and the horror regular human beings are capable of. The protagonist is able to show with his tours on people’s minds that some do horrible stuff not because they are monsters but because they feel they are divinely entitled to their selfish actions. The portrayal of Hitler is also interesting in this narrative, as he is regularly displayed as a powerful man and in here he is shown as nothing but a ridiculous junkie. To make this story even more unique, it would be interesting to provide a deeper development of the character Alondra, as the story lacks on female characters with depth.

    Lead Characters

Walker is a great character, American hero with a contemporaneous twist, fierce spirit trapped in a bad economy, but with a sharp and charismatic mind ready to save the world if needed.

    Uniqueness of Story

    This is a rare gem.

    Analyst Recommendation

    RECOMMEND

    Justification

I recommend it because the narrative is original, it is an outstanding historical drama that is completely different from what we are used to, the writing is exquisite, the plot is well tied and it brings deep meaning in a soft manner, encouraging a type of reflection that is much needed nowadays.

    Brief

Walker Henderson is a frustrated salesman struggling to get out of his town and his job to lead a better life with his wife Alondra.
Everything changes when he is involved in a car crash with Dwight, an odd man who leaves him a watch that takes control of his mind – and takes him directly to World War II, where he is capable of controlling the minds of officers and ends up destroying Hitler.

    What We Liked

This is a fantastic narrative that takes the reader on a ride through the minds of several men from different times and contexts; first, the mind of the protagonist, a contemporaneous man dissatisfied with his dull professional life in America; American officials during WWII; Nazi officials that committed horrible crimes and finally Hitler’s mind. The author is capable using the watch as a tool to encourage a deeper reflection on empathy and the horror regular human beings are capable of.

Film: It would also make a great movie as the story is creative, visually enticing, the plot is interesting, well tied, and unlike any other. Also, the protagonist makes for a great contemporaneous American hero: a fierce spirit trapped in a bad economy, but with a sharp and charismatic mind ready to save the world if needed.

TV: It would make a great adaptation for TV, especially because episodes can be focused on the minds of each character, exploring the deepest feelings involved the actions of completely different people.

Key points: Charismatic protagonist; creative premise; well-tied plot; WWII settings; heroic ending.

    Synopsis

Walker Henderson is a regular guy working as a used car salesman and trying to make ends meet while getting on with his dull life. Humiliated by Bob, his mediocre boss, one day he’s had enough and decides to blackmail Bob in order to protect himself from his abusive behavior. Right at this moment of courage, an odd man invades the car store, takes Walker as a hostage, and somehow takes control of his psyche. The man, Dwight, dies, but he leaves his pocket watch with Walker, and their minds and memories are intertwined. Walker sees situations Dwight went through in WWII. At the hospital, Walker feels empowered when he has the watch with him, and the reader understands that the object has a type of power compared to the ring on Tolkien’s narrative. The doctor that sees Walker is Darrell’s grandson and recognizes the watch “that won the war”. During Walker’s flashbacks, he gets inside the minds of nazi soldiers, Karl and Colonel Stauffenberg, and tries to make them come to their senses about the horrors they were practicing. Walker finds that Karl helped Dwight and Julius against Hitler, and under his influence, the nazi officials decide to try to kill Hitler. When Walker is taken to their conscience as they meet Hitler, Karl is surprised by the lack of power he displays. As Hitler grabs ahold of the watch, Walker is able to understand what goes on through his mind as a man who feels divinely entitled to commit horrors against humanity. Through the watch, Walker instills in Hitler’s mind to kill himself.
