    Analyst Recommendation

    WORK IN PROGRESS

    Justification

This is a work in progress because even though passages are surprising and main character is original, the sequence of the story being told is unclear. However, I strongly recommend story to be worked on, as issues such as mental illness and how easy it was for Claire to purchase a gun during manic episodes are powerful subjects, and society would benefit from this story being properly told.

    Tips for Improvement

In order to consider it, narrative would require a clearer storyline and a character arc.

    Brief

Claire is a young woman struggling with mental illness and a diagnosis of Bipolar 1 disorder. From interactions with celebrities, working in different areas and unrequited love, Claire also survives dangerous situations during her manic episodes.

    What We Liked

This story is highly original as it brings an inside view on mental illness, narrated by a young black woman overcoming her own manic episodes and trying to find stability, hope and love.

Film: It would be a great adaptation for Film because the story is being told from the point of view of the person suffering from bipolar disorder and Claire offers a clear insight into her feelings and thoughts during manic episodes.

TV: It would be a good adaptation for TV as there are surprising passages and many stories can be taken from Claire's manic episodes until she finds stability.

Key points: Surprising passages; vulnerable protagonist; honest narrator; religion debate; gun control debate.

    Synopsis

Claire begins her narrative by introducing herself and accomplishments she has reached during her life as a brilliant high school student, an actress, writer, musician, artist and a bachelor in Mechanical engineering.

She then begins to describe how she struggled with a bipolar 1 diagnosis, alternating phases of hypomania, mania and depression.

As a black raven accompanies her with messages of hope for the future, Claire describes psychotic episodes she endured, alternating with interactions with celebrities such as Viola Davis and Emily King and her quest to find love - first with love interest Victor, then Kanoe.

Running from her parents following a paranoia crisis and going into the woods and invading a family house naked; running away from a hospital for the same reason and then jumping from an interstate bridge is one of the manic episodes Claire survived.

Two more manic episodes followed, a car crash in which she lost control of herself and the car she was driving and also another triggered by interactions during a religious conference.

Claire also brings to the table important subjects such as the sexual abuse she endured when she was a child and how easy it was for her to buy a gun during a manic episode.

Claire then decides not to end her life and is able to find a peaceful place within her mental disorder with therapy and medication.
