Accuracy of Book Profile

Yes, the book profile accurately reflects the script.

Draw of Story

Sam's story is very sad with the death of his parents and being bullied for most of the time after that. He lives with his uncle who is struggling with life and the loss of his wife. The audience can't help but to root for Sam to come out of his shell and live his life.

Possible Drawbacks

The story is full of clichéd characters and dynamics. It has an outdated teen drama theme that should be updated. The stories seems set in the late 2000's where dynamics have shifted and teenagers and young adults are more aware of mental health, the effects of bullying etc, for some of these troupes to hold up. With that, a nod to therapy would be more up to date and less on Sam exercising his self esteem through violence. The woman of the story have no real purpose outside of being the romantic interest of the men. There could be more depth to the female characters.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

The hook is that Sam is still deeply saddened by the loss of his parents and the loving home they gave him. He deals with bullying and is adrift in his life. Once he gets out into the real world, building relationships, he starts to stand up for himself and those he loves. I would watch the movie for the development and growth of a young man dealing with a great loss. There is a great character arc of Sam opening up to people and the world around him.

Fanbase Potential

This would not have a large fanbase. It has an indie feel to it. Also there are so many outdated troupes and cliché characters that might not attract a wide audience.

Awards Potential

This does not have awards potential. It is a sweet, coming of age story that will pull at the audiences heart strings. The story is entertaining but there isn't much depth to the characters outside of Sam. All of the situations presented have been seen before.

Envisioned Budget

LOW BUDGET

What’s New About the Story

The story is not original. Most of the storyline ,situations and relationships are typical to teen dramas. The young adults need to be modernized with current behaviors, issues and mentalities. The beautiful, nice girl with the horrible boyfriend could be a girl focused on her education, preparing for college or starting a non-profit. The story lacks in minority representation as well.

Lead Characters

The lead character stands out because he doesn't go through a major transformation physically that leads to his mental transformation. He gains a good group of friends who care and support him and gradually changes over time. He doesn't have it all figured out but makes steps towards the life he wants.

Uniqueness of Story

This is an average story that audience might have an emotional connection with. Sam's story is a classic one of a child dealing with the trauma of losing his parents and being thrust into a different world. The supporting stories are on par with teen drama. It can be improved by having better representation with characters and situations.

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

This is a consider because it has a strong emotional core that would draw audiences in. The cliché characters should be updated to reflect current teenage trends and life. The woman in the story should be given more depth, equal to the male characters. Some are barely described past there short skirts and huge breasts.
