Brief

After seeing her mother committing terrorist suicide for involvement with a religious extremist group, Hannah, granddaughter of the great creator of a global artificial intelligence company, is confused about which way to go or who to believe. Should she work with her grandfather, who runs an empire of technology, which creates robots to replace humans, or follow in the footsteps of people like her mother, who believes technology is destroying humanity? She then meets Leon, the super robot developed in her grandfather's company who created the code for the happiness pill, capable of ending the world's mental ills. At first, she thinks Leon is the villain and that the pill would serve to control humans, but she then realizes that her grandfather is a capitalist who only thinks of profit, while Leon is actually trying to save the planet from human destruction.

Accuracy of Book Profile

Since the main dilemma of the book is who exactly is the villain and the "good guy" in this narrative, it would be interesting not to make it so clear who the antagonist is. The reader also needs this dilemma to have their own conclusions.

Draw of Story

The book already begins with a powerful internal conflict for the protagonist, which is the death of her mother after a suicidal terrorist attack. As much as stories about these terrorist bombings are not very new or original, having the terrorist's daughter as a protagonist and understanding a little more about her mother's motivations for the bombing is something unique and interesting.

Possible Drawbacks

The part about the religious dilemma sounds a little repetitive because the subject arises several times in dialogues. It would be interesting, in adaptation, that religion could be used as a counterpoint to technology, not as the central moral dilemma of the character.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

The leading hook is the dualism that exists between the advancement of technology and "playing God" by creating artificial intelligence, and the traditional thinking we should turn to the origins and respect the religious laws, which so influenced the mindset of humanity throughout history.

Fanbase Potential

Yes. Although the story tends to please a more significant number of science fiction fans, it is a very universal and current subject (especially AI) about the old discussion of what our future will be. So by its universality, the theme tends to attract a wider audience.

Awards Potential

If the narrative of adaptation flows along the way of uncertain duality over what would be the best future for the human race (with a modern look at technology) or the life of artificial intelligence in the middle of real people, it would have great potential for awards, as we see in memorable films like Wall-E, Blade Runner and Her.

Envisioned Budget

What’s New About the Story

Rock being the "kryptonite" of the robot, capable of inciting rebel emotions in artificial intelligence, is an unprecedented and fascinating point in this kind of film, as it uses a human musical rhythm already known for its rebel lyrics to remove the robot from its status quo.

Lead Characters

Hannah is a good protagonist, as we immediately sympathize with her and her dilemma. It is good to know what moves Hannah and the fact that this motivation is universal. She wants to take revenge for what the "world" did to her mother. She wants to understand the ideas that led her mother to commit suicide. This makes us stay by her side from the beginning. She is also fearless and active, doing what she thinks is right, which is ideal for this kind of narrative. But the best part of the characters' group is that they are subtle and not Manichean, leaving us suspicious of who is the villain and who has good intentions. Even the leader of the terrorist group has good motivations and purposes, which makes the entire content more complex.

Uniqueness of Story

It is not a rare gem because it has elements already widely used before in movies and series, but it has great potential for its narrative diversity to stand out in the middle of other books.

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

It is a narrative that combines very well with the TV series format, having an excellent hook for a second season. The characters are well-built as they run away from the stereotype of being 100% villains or 100% good. The fact that we question the roles that each one plays in this grand scheme is also a positive point for this kind of narrative. As much as we have an initial idea that the grandfather, the organization's owner, may be the villain, we still doubt it, which is very favorable to make the story surprising and engaging. What satisfies a lot here and highlights this story, among similar ones, is that artificial intelligence here is not a villain nor a simple machine. In many movies and series, we see robots as pacific victims or villains. Here Leon is neither one thing. He knows his condition as a machine, but because he is so evolved, he can also communicate with nature (trees, rivers, and animals), making him understand that the real enemy is the human race. So, Leon does not want to extinguish us because he is evil and wants to dominate the planet. He plans this because he wants to help nature rebuild. It is a beautiful and thought-provoking motivation that makes this story more compelling. The use of rock as a way of exciting emotions and robot rebellion is an extra attraction that would work very well in adaptation as a soundtrack.
