Accuracy of Book Profile

Yes, it does, even though Ila's character description says her role is "emotional", which can't be correct.

Draw of Story

The story is very interesting from the first lines, which describe an Athens in a near and quite believable future. Creating that credible future is what makes the story more attractive and compelling.

Possible Drawbacks

The only thing that made me want to put the book down was the problematic development given to the female characters and some passages that sound very sexist, like the one where the protagonist talks about the difficulty of finding women who are both beautiful and intelligent.

Use of Special Effects

THE STORY RELIES HEAVILY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

Primary Hook of Story

A near future in which the past is no longer very well known, with developments from recent events, such as Brexit, and a great mystery that could point to a possible energy revolution.

Fanbase Potential

There is potential for this, especially among audiences more connected to sci-fi stories with a more realistic and socially critical background.

Awards Potential

There is indeed potential for Awards, especially those geared towards action cinema and sci-fi. However, this will hardly happen if rather outdated macho stereotypes remain embedded in the narrative.

Envisioned Budget

LARGE BUDGET

What’s New About the Story

All the construction of the future within the narrative is quite rich and unusual, certainly the highlight of the book. On the other hand, romantic or action-movie stunts are quite predictable. They could be worked on to become more exciting.

Lead Characters

The lead character is interesting in the way he sees and deals with the world around him, but he seems to have a bit too conservative visions and too predictable a trajectory to become really memorable for the audience.

Uniqueness of Story

Not a rare gem, especially given the somewhat backward and sexist views included throughout the book. World-building is great, but many of the genre clichés included here could be further developed.

Analyst Recommendation

CONSIDER

Justification

The main reason to consider the story for an adaptation is its construction of a near future, within a few decades, which is at the same time believable and quite compelling. Based on some contemporary events, especially Brexit, the author builds a very well-developed vision of the future, which sucks us almost instantly into the narrative and naturally inserts it into the context of an action story. However, for the adaptation to be successful, it is necessary to be careful and edit some important points. The first one of these issues is the use of somewhat sexist languages and views both in the hypersexualized development of female characters and in the somewhat outdated views of the text and the main character in relation to women. This characteristic would hardly be well accepted nowadays and would probably become the target of criticism, which would immensely damage the narrative. Furthermore, the story ends up losing much of its charm when it descends into rather tired and predictable clichés of genres like action and romance. Given that there is such an original background to this story, why not try to be more surprising throughout its development as well? However, with additional edits and improvements, taking into account the aforementioned aspects, the story has the possibility of attracting an audience interested in the theme and achieving success as an adaptation.
