Belinda is an event planner who picked up a stalker, meaning to do her harm. Carrick is a client, who senses something deeper in the woman he meets. He has found his soulmate, if he can protect her from her unseen stalker.

The Retreat is about over coming challenges, great and deep friendships and love. Although Belinda was overly stressed out from over working, she made the decision to take on an event that would propel her into the arena of planning she wants to go. Carrick finds Belinda infuriating at first, but then sees the drive and ambition within her, which motivates her to be the best at what she does. Even though he was betrayed by his ex-wife, Carrick is able to open his heart to Belinda. He sets out to help and protect her along with men from her past that he proclaims are shadows or ghosts. Belinda and Carrick’s relationship is strained at first with her being stressed out. Then her stalker adds to their tension. They just want a chance to find out if what they have discovered together, can become something special and lasting. The characters are down-to-earth on the surface, yet deep and complex as you get to know them better. This would make an interesting movie or small screen movie because there is the romance yet the suspense to keep viewers intrigued to watch as the next scene unfolds. Also, if it were followed up with the other stories I have written about the ghosts, it could make a compelling start to a series.
