Accuracy of Book Profile
It feels as if the Book Profile should mention God or religion in a bigger way, since that is the overall theme and ultimate message of the book.
Draw of Story
This author has an incredibly honest and authentic writing style. The writing is straightforward and clear, but there's a lot of emotion in these words. This story rings very true, and it's easy to empathize with the likable writer.
Possible Drawbacks
This story builds in a nice way, but the ending feels sudden and jarring, as if it ends just as the writer is starting her journey with God. The pace would feel more natural if the ending were longer and gave readers time to take in everything that's happened.
Use of Special Effects
THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS
Primary Hook of Story
The Hero's Journey is the hook of this story. Lyn goes through a lot of tragedy in her life, and many readers/viewers will relate to going through hard times just as Lyn has done. The hook is the fact that she makes it out alive and that she's now thriving and finding purpose in her life.
Fanbase Potential
There are a lot of religious people in the world, and therefore, a lot of religious viewers. If this project were adapted as a clearly religious piece of cinema, it would likely have a large fanbase, though it's not probable that people who aren't religious would connect as deeply with this project.
Awards Potential
With the right casting choices, there's a chance that the actress who plays Lyn could attract Awards attention. However, this project may find more viewers as a made-for-TV movie, which probably wouldn't have Awards potential.

What’s New About the Story
Lyn's story is extremely personal and original. The fact that she's writing this story in first person in order to chronicle her actual experience also feels unique. The ending doesn't dive as deeply into her personal relationship with God though. Exploring that relationship in more depth would make the ending feel more original.
Lead Characters
Lyn is a courageous, honest, and trusting person. She stands out because she follows her heart with Tee. After Tee's death, her strength and perseverance stands out as well.
Uniqueness of Story
For religious readers looking to connect more deeply with their faith and read other testimonies, this is a rare gem. For readers/viewers who aren't particularly religious, this story probably won't hit as hard emotionally.
Possible Formats
Film: Streaming, Indie TV Series: Limited Run / Mini-Series
Analyst Recommendation
CONSIDER
Justification
This is a personal and engaging story with emotional ups and downs. The ending, while a little too sudden, is poignant and uplifting. This project will connect well with religious readers and viewers.

What We Liked
This is a riveting and deeply authentic story that's told with honesty and empathy. The writer's voice comes through clearly in this book, and it will touch the hearts of readers. The strength and perseverance shown in this story are undeniably inspiring. The religious focus of the end of the book feels honest, uplifting, and meaningful to those who share the religious views of the writer. Even those who don't will find something to hope for after reading the end of this book and realizing just how much Lyn went through. The fact that she came out the other side of her tragedy is miraculous.
Film: This project currently has a clear and satisfying beginning, middle, and end that perfectly lends itself to film. Lyn's journey, though it isn't over, has a fulfilling conclusion. It's easy to imagine it wowing viewers on the big screen.
TV: Lyn has a number of interesting people in her life. A TV adaptation of this project would allow viewers to get to know those people and see their journeys as well. The setting is also quite strong in this project, and it would work well for the set of a full TV show.
Key points:
1. Meaningful message.
2. Interesting plot.
3. Realistic characters.
4. Honest writing style.
5. Hopeful ending.
Synopsis
In the first chapter, the writer details her time spent with Young Tee, a local rapper. She hangs out with him, smokes weed, and really enjoys their time together. Her sister Tarra repeatedly warns her to be careful with Tee though, as he’s been known to get into fights and get into trouble.
Tee and Lyn begin having sex and their relationship deepens. They hit a bit of a roadblock when Tee is held in custody after returning his probation papers too late, but after a bit, he is free to go.
One year later and the relationship is thriving. Lyn is a part of a fashion show with her sister Mimi. Tee comes to support her. After the show, they go to a club and run into Twan, Tee’s cousin. When a man jumps Twan, Tee leaps in to help and fight alongside him. Tee escapes unharmed, but the experience rattles Lyn.
Tee and Lyn get an apartment in the suburbs and Lyn gets a good steady job. Tee begins selling drugs full time. Lyn likes how reliable the money is, but she doesn’t like how little Tee’s around and the potential dangers of the job.
When Lyn is fired from her job, she decides to pick up work as a rideshare driver. After a year, Tee and Lyn reach the end of their lease and have to move out. Lyn moves in with her parents. They don’t like Tee staying there, but she still invites him to stay the night. After an argument, Tee opens Lyn’s car door into an oncoming car. Money is suddenly extremely tight, so Lyn gets a job at a call center to pay for the car repairs.
Tee books a performance at Miami Live, but his high hopes don’t last; he learns that Twan got shot in the head on his mother’s porch and didn’t make it. After Twan’s death, Tee began to grow distant and smoke more. He’s watched so many people die and he’s gotten numb to it. Lyn pushes Tee to move and leave the dangerous business he’s in, but he doesn’t listen. Tee’s baby momma texts him a troubling message wishing death on him. Lyn finds solace in church.
At a going away celebration at a bar, Tee storms out without saying goodbye to anyone. Lyn doesn’t understand what’s wrong with him. The next day is looking up though, since Tee and Lyn are set to be in a fashion show together. However, Lyn learns early that her designer is no longer in the show. She still plans to attend to support Tee though, but it’s too late by the time she plans to go and she doesn’t make it.
Tee comes by Lyn’s house after, ready to hang out and feeling good. Unexpectedly, shots ring out while Lyn and Tee are talking. Tee gets shot and taken away in an ambulance. Later while the detectives are questioning her, Lyn learns that Tee didn’t make it. She is devastated by the news, and also devastated that she was the last to learn of Tee’s fate.
Lyn feels agony and turmoil without Tee, and she knows that God is the only thing that can get her through the pain. She falls into a deep depression before and after the funeral. She even tries to get a dog to help with the pain, but he causes her stress and she sells him after three days.
Lyn deals with mental health struggles and PTSD. She leans on the support of her sister and Tee’s family.
She attends a church revival service that gives her hope. The prophet there tells her that she will move to Atlanta, Georgia, and she does. Through God, Lyn finds hope and purpose in her life again. She knows that God still has a plan for her.
