The story begins with Li saying goodbye to his mother as he is taken by his uncle to learn the ways of their people. The story builds up an emotional connection with the main character.

The story has too many storylines. It drags the storyline and plot longer than necessary. The dialogue could be more sophisticated and sleeker. It is very explanatory, dragging out the story as well. The storyline surrounding Midaris and Schumann should be the main focus with the support storylines being secondary. It would condense the story given more suspense to the plot.

THE STORY DOES NOT RELY ON SPECIAL EFFECTS

The hook is that Midaris is searching for Schumann to stop his string of murders. I would watch the movie for the action and seeing Midaris explore the ways of his people. Unfortunately, that is not explored as much and the sixth sense that is described early on in the story is not used as prominent throughout.

This could have a decent sized fanbase because it is a suspense thriller. There is action, murder, suspense but the story needs to focus on a central plot. There is too much time given to the other subplots. The amount of characters to keep up with will feel daunting to audiences.

This does not have awards potential. There is little that is unique about the story that makes it stand out. The character development is average and the plot is predictable.

The story has a few original elements such as Midaris' background. He is Chinese and Native American. He also has a sixth sense that he inherited from his people. There could be more female characters. Most of the women are victims of Schumann who are naked and dead.

The lead character stands out because of his heritage. He is also not a typical male lead in an action based film. Midaris has a quiet strength instead of being the overbearing, macho type. He is more likeable as a character.

This is not a rare gem. It is a solid action thriller that needs to be more concise. The story is predictable with the good prevailing over bad. The plot meanders for a while without getting to the point. While the beginning chapters are important to give a backstory to Midaris' life, it feels disjointed from the story. As a boy, he lived in a small village and then spends years in the wilderness with his uncles. It jumps to his life in America, in the army and tracking down criminals. The tone is different and the gap should be bridged. The abilities Midaris' has should be played up better especially since it was established in the beginning.

The plot should be more defined. Schumann's motives could be more specific.
