Development Pitch
In this fantasy adventure series, two men, a clerk named Beck and a rogue named Tarn, find themselves drawn together as they contend with monsters like vampires, werewolves, and evil fairies. Their friends and family also get involved. Eric the Relic Collector, a spoof of Indiana Jones, leads a second expedition, including his sister Nutmeg and Beck's adoptive mother Cecily as they try to find Tarn and Beck, lost in the enchanted forest. A bandit named Carroll, who once employed Tarn, seeks the cursed gold coins of Towasa, an ancient god of death and destruction. A vampire named Miranda, who in a twist is Beck's mom, also joins Carroll. Another plot would involve Martin the satyr working alongside Professor Patricia to save the city of Silvo from a monstrous army. The original book is set in a fantasy world with 1700s/1800s style and technology, but the Fayrest TV pilot script reimagines Tarn & Beck. Fayrest would be a contemporary rural/suburban US town that borders a gateway to other worlds, most notably the fantasy world of Bonniver. Tarn would be from that fantasy world, who traveled to this world, while Beck would be an ordinary guy. The TV pilot introduces a couple of new characters, an elf, a police officer, a federal agent, and the story's pace would be slowed down for the audience to get to know the characters.
