Hammerspace is a story about a girl rock band whose members all have a set of unusual powers. Amy ran away from home to Denver, and met Kelly to form a band called Freestyle that didn't last. She gets bad news that the woman she called her mother is dying and besides to move back to Indiana.

The ending to Hammerspace hasn't been established yet. My goal is to keep the story going for many years. My current set of books will probably end with a cataclysmic battle on another world where the girls save Earth from annihilation. After that they'll put on an awesome concert.

Hammerspace Pitch In the annals of Rock and Roll history there has never been a band quite like Hammerspace. Consider the lead singer and lead guitar player Amy Schmitt if you will. Here is the epitome of a powerful golden amazon goddess that can fight and drink better than any man in between sessions where she shreds her Stratocaster to pieces. Dark-haired Kelly Weber dutifully picks up sweet rhythms to round out Amy’s sound while being right on target as the band’s resident archer. The band’s drummer is redheaded Heather Muller who hits the skins hard and doubles as a ninja-like martial artist. Then there is Hammerspace’s bass player Amanda Wagner who doesn’t really fit in any category at all. She just dropped out of the sky one day and started thumping on those heavy strings. A sound ensemble of supporting characters tries their best to keep Hammerspace on track and cranking out hit after massive hit. Ronnie Trescoe is the band’s manager who has put them in the tender loving care of Amy’s younger sister Madison Schmitt. Despite her young age Madison is a capable musician, song writer and manager who is the glue that holds the band together. Sometimes its all a teenager can do to keep a band like Hammerspace meeting their deadlines while juggling homework and the rigors of high school life. My name is Darren Snyder. I was born in Winchester, Indiana on September 16, 1971. I graduated from Randolph Southern Jr-Sr High School in 1990.I first joined the Army in 1992 and stayed in until 1996. Continued a military career in both the Indiana and Ohio National Guard up until the time 9/11 occurred. I did go back on active duty in 2003 having done two tours of duty in Iraq. The isolation of the desert caused a change in me that made me want to write. Through my second stint in the Army I began to draw characters in my artwork that I would eventually use for my book Hammerspace. While being stationed at Ft. Gordon, Georgia I drew a picture of a female rock band in 2014 and decided to give each one a personality and a unique set of super hero powers. I pulled the name Rotten Trampoline Attack off of Facebook but I later renamed the band Hammerspace because the girls all seemed to come together out of nowhere, like when a cartoon character pulls a hammer from thin air. Since retirement in 2015 I have moved back to Winchester, Indiana. I achieved a union position at Ardagh Glass here in town. However, I'm still actively working on Hammerspace and some other projects as well. My goal is to be a noted local artist and writer. I continue to be active in my community and I network with fellow artists and writers on Facebook on a regular basis.
