Harrowing story of survival of a family of two, Jewish mother and her teenage son in a communist totalitarian state during historically crucial years 1967-1969 amidst acute poverty, prejudice, discrimination antisemitism and violence, fighting for acceptance in a small town bordering the Soviet Union. The must carefully navigate between communist bureaucrats, the police and the pervading presence of the Catholic church, with a most desperate and unlikely conclusion.
