Dr. Roger P Travis-Chagas is a stay at home dog dad, retired podiatrist who spent most of his early life checking off his bucket list by the age of 50 and never waited for tomorrow to arrive. He graduated form South West Missouri State University with a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management and spent time working with Mr. Jim Fowler of Mutual of Omaha's Wild kingdom traveling the country giving Wild Life educational lectures. Life then whisked him away to another bucket list goal of becoming a physician. He attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine followed by a surgical residency in Detroit MI. Coming from humble beginnings in rural Virginia and believing that you open your own doors into the life you desire. He now dedicates his life to reaching out to those who are fighting the darkest battle of all, depression.. Dr. Travis-Chagas is himself a survivor of a 35 year battle with treatment resistant depression started by a closed head trauma at the age of 9. He credits the many godsends in his life for his more than interesting life and also for a new life of being completely depression free. After meeting the love of his life Marcelo Chagas who is from Rio De Janeiro and is a professional handler (show dogs), they returned to south side Virginia and live just 35 minutes north of Chapel Hill N.C.
