The Scent of Heat is 19-year-old Ariella Paz's story in the 1950's in Israel. She has a dream to live in America after having tasted life in Argentina as a teenager. While she is serving in the army, her mother is going through a devastating illness which hurls Ariella into an emotional turmoil and reevaluation of her life's dream. He vulnerability throws her right into the arms on an ex-officer who isn't whom she thinks he is.
