About The Author

Edward Caputo is an entrepreneur, author, investor, developer and former Chief Executive Officer of a number of highly successful technology companies, which he founded and built during his career in business. He pioneered outsourcing to India, rode the first Internet wave, engineered an Initial Public Offering at the peak of the Dot-com bubble in 1998 and sold out in a cash-only deal right before the Dot-com bubble burst and the technology stock market crash of 2001. His honors include: Ernst & Young: Master Entrepreneur of The Year Award Bachelor of Science: Business Administration - Summa Cum Laude Computer Systems Engineer - Electronic Data Systems, Dallas, Texas FLMI - Fellow of the Life Management Institute Naples 2016 Citizen of the Year - Naples, Florida Sponsor: FSW Writing Scholarship Award Born in Brooklyn, New York, Edward Caputo originally studied to become a lawyer. After graduating at the top of his class from college, he sought a summer job prior to attending law school. As fate would have it, Ross Perot scouted the college campus looking to hire top graduates as employees for Electronic Data Systems. That summer job was a career-changing course. As Ross had done with IBM, he broke from EDS and formed Command Systems, taking the company public in 1998 with over 500 employees and five branches, including an international development center in Bangalore, India. His published novel "Death Cross" is based upon dramatized real-life experiences during the process of taking his company public on Wall Street. He started writing a weekly column called "Caputo on Computers" for the Hartford Business Journal and that began his quest to become a published author.
