Development Pitch

The Long Ride is an authentic tale of crime and personal confusion. The protagonist is swept into a life of drugs and crime because of his utter lack of understanding. Though pathetic at times, Nate Hester is also sympathetic. His lack of acceptance and direction are commonplace. Spider Kowalski's misguided attempts to toughen Nate up garner sympathy for both of them. Two misfits, different in most respects, share a similar struggle: to belong and survive in a world that neither understands. The setting is conducive to cinematography as the action includes several fight scenes, a few adolescent sex scenes and ear-numbing motorcycle rides. The story is dialogue driven and moves at a quick pace.
