Copadrama is the story of a group of Rio residents at a typical middle class Copacabana building. They include an old hypochondriac, a solitary school teacher, a crazy psychiatrist, an Argentinian gigolo, a typical Rio Casanova, a young romantic girl, a bitter old spinster, a gym teacher...

In the end each character pretty much "gets what he/she deserves". Some will have a happy ending, others will have a tragic one. The doorman, who appears little in the book, surprisingly turns out to the be most important character, for without him, no one would have learned of these stories.
