Colours in the Spectrum is a very visual novel. It is the coming of age story of a male protagonist in his mid 30s. There is loads of drama surrounding his multiple love affairs, his complex relationships with four friends and a back story involving his parents. The story does some back and forth between the natty 90s and the simple 70s when the protagonist and his friends were all teenagers. The story oscillates between Los Angeles and Bangalore. Several chapters are episodic and several of them end as potential cliff-hangers. The book offers suitable material for a web series or TV series of 7-8 episodes.

Born and bred in idyllic Bangalore, Jayant lives in scenic Seattle. He holds an MBA from The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore and has donned different professional hats over the years — Management Consultant, Corporate Trainer, Business and Technology Manager, Financial Planner, Faculty at Business Schools. His debut novel Colours in the Spectrum was published in 2013. His second novel Family Secrets is complete and awaits publication. An avid reader since childhood, Jayant was always enamoured by the power of the written word and the intricacies of the English language. While he had several stories going on in his head and penned some of them partially on paper, the real impetus to heed his calling and practice his passion came in the form of Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy, which he happened to read while immigrating to the US. That is when Colours in the Spectrum was born. Thereafter, Jayant completed the Certificate Program in Literary Fiction at the University of Washington. Ever since, Jayant has compiled and edited two non-fiction publications — anthologies of true incidents from the life of a gifted humanitarian. An inveterate movie fan, he has written the script for a full-length feature film tentatively titled Apne Sapney and is seeking serious takers. In his free time, Jayant volunteers with professional organizations in the Seattle area. He is a member of the Board of Directors of IIM Americas — an alumni association of premier B-schools. His wife Vidhya is a Human Resources professional and a dilettante marathon runner.
