The story is original because of its beautiful settings - 1900s' Italy and Paris - and also because not only the protagonist is obstinate, but side characters also are desire-driven. Abigail is an attractive woman whose beauty drove her to face a series of abuses and bad turns in destiny. When she decides to forget her past and start anew in the city of Brescia, she meets Lucciano, falls in love, faces his selfishness and decides to face her destiny in order to forgive and find her happiness.
What We Liked
The most praiseworthy thing about this narrative is certainly its breathtaking settings - early 1900's in Italy and including a trip to Paris. Also, lead character is a strong willed and charming female with a story of pain, forgiveness and resilience.
Film: It would be a good adaptation for film because Abigail's life is full of events and as far as the narrative goes, there isn't a dull moment.
TV: It would be a great adaptation for TV because there are many ups and downs in the arc of Abigail - as well as relationship cycles that come along with repeated patterns, leaving the audience to figure out if she's ever going to set herself free.

Synopsis
Early 1900's. Abigail is a chubby young girl focused on losing weight in order to be beautiful and attract men. She reaches her goal and becomes an attractive woman - but it comes with a price. The scene is mysterious: grown up Abigail has a bruise in her mouth and is on a train from Turin to Brescia, in Italy. She refuses to talk about her past and says her name is Catherine after meeting Beatrice & Adam, a couple that offers her shelter in Brescia in exchange of organization work. Later on, Abigail finds a job in Lucciano Rodriguez property. There she finds a community along with his employees and Lucciano and Abigail slowly fall in love with each other. At this moment, Abigail thinks Lucciano is in love with Michaela, to whom she helps him write loves letters.
In the meantime, Mr Lombardo comes to town and finds Abigail. She is forced to reveal her past to Lucciano: she was married, but was raped and beaten by her husband who thought she was unfaithful and betrayed him with Lombardo. One day, Lucciano and Abigail travel to Paris to meet Michaela and she finds out Michaela is Lucciano's friend, a man; and more than that, someone from Abigail's past and who never forgot about her. Lucciano, jealous, begins to show his violent side in violent sex scenes. Abigail decides to escape from Lucciano and fix her previous life, which includes sorting out her past with her father. He asks her for forgiveness for trying to abuse her when she was young and after her mother died. Abigail forgives him and goes back to Lucciano. She also finds out her father sent her money during her previous marriage and she had a substantial savings account.
Abigail gets pregnant with Lucciano and when she gives birth, Lucciano says that the kid didn't survive - however, as the child had Down Syndrome he decided to hide him in a children's hospital until Abigail gets pregnant again. She finds out, leaves Lucciano but soon forgives him, they have more children and create a wine named Secrets of the Solarium.
