The Slaughterhouse Secrets is the story of Dr. Jessica Bergstrom who takes a job as a veterinary medical officer in a slaughterhouse and discovers government and corporate corruption which places her career, and life, in danger.

The Slaughterhouse Secrets has universal appeal for college educated people who are sinking in the student loan debt pool. Dr. Jessica Bergstrom is smart, funny and underwater financially when she takes a crummy job that pays well and has good benefits as a federal veterinarian. Her safe job turns dangerous when a meth-addled plant foreman, Keith Johnson, takes exception to her enforcing food safety laws and targets her for destruction. Luckily for Jessica, her best friend, Shana, has her back when she stumbles upon Keith's meth manufacturing lab in a forested area outside of town and is shot at as she escapes. Jessica doesn't find any help with Keith's aggressiveness from her government supervisors. They are convinced she's just another woman on the take for a harassment settlement and mark her for termination. It doesn't help her case when she finds the plant is slaughtering cattle after hours to retrieve drug parcels implanted in the cows' stomachs. Her life and the meat-eating public's health is at risk if she can't get away from Keith to warn of this deadly activity.
