What We Liked

This is a wildly unpredictable, often hilarious, action-packed film with rugged rural Americans, a Nazi-like mad scientist, crazed flesh-craving mutants, and mysterious all-powerful aliens--which is to say, this is a story with something for everyone.

Film: WTF, DOC! could become the kind of summer blockbuster that everyone loves. The story contains a little bit of something for everyone between its tough male characters, alluring and confident female characters, its evil mad scientist and military heroes, flesh-craving mutants and intelligent aliens. There are thrills and chills, explosions and gunfights, blood and gore, and many hilarious jokes. A film adaptation could take the route of a more mature blood-soaked grindhouse such as PLANET TERROR flick or a more family-friendly adventure-blockbuster such as WORLD WAR Z or THE MUMMY. Either way, this is a film that would have audiences exclaiming, laughing and on the edge of their seats, and telling all their friends to go see the film, too.

TV: Because of the large cast of characters and the complex merging of genres and tropes, there is much material here to provide a full season of a TV series and the story's ending perfectly sets up a second season. Audiences would love to tune in each week to watch this ragtag band of heroes battle monsters while dealing with the conflicts and drama between one another, like a more light-hearted, humorous and action-packed THE WALKING DEAD.

Synopsis

SMALL-TOWN MISSOURI: KELLY STONE (male, 35) wakes up, hungover, in his apartment. He owns/runs Stone’s Tanning Salon downstairs and he goes there now. He runs guns on the side secretly. KATE works at the salon. She moonlights as a stripper. Stone rolls up the cage outside salon (it’s secretly bulletproof) and enters. He falls asleep on the couch. Kate arrives for work and wakes him up. He watches her lustily as she moves about. Despite their intimacy, he has never slept with her. On the TV the news shows crowds of people attacking one another and the police as the news reporter mentions something about a virus. The anchor interviews a scientist who explains how their attempts to find an AIDS cure went wrong, spawning “Thinkers”--intelligent beings that seem to be able to control the other creatures, the “Ragers,” which cannot think or reason, are fast and strong and highly aggressive. There are also “Dozers,” huge creatures which guard the Thinkers and, like the Ragers, are controlled by the Thinkers. Kate’s friend STACY arrives, also a stripper.

DR. PANTERA (the “spitting image” of a Nazi SS Officer) sits in his office in a research facility. He is German-born but raised in America. He found aliens as part of a US government team. The latest alien he discovered holds the key to curing the world’s diseases as the alien’s blood resists cancer and viruses and every other illness.

Dr. Pantera is now moving onto human trials. He enters the room where aliens are stored inside glass boxes and tells ALIEN 13 that they will make history together. Dr. Pantera is informed by an employee that there are 32 human tests subjects with various illnesses and Dr. Pantera describes the dosage to be given to them. He then walks to the cells and begins injecting prisoners. Soon, the prisoners begin to scream with rage, banging on the cell bars, as the “cure” takes effect. Some have grown in height, their eyes gone black, with long, twitchy bodies; others have swelled hugely and becoming immensely strong.

COLONEL HIGHTOWER, an exceptional ex-military mercenary and employee of Dr. Pantera, arrives. At Dr. Pantera’s request, Hightower orders his men to fire on the test subjects. But it’s too late; the subjects have escaped their cells and are attacking the guards, many of whom are becoming like these creatures. Dr. Pantera hits the emergency alert for the facility. Dr. Pantera and Hightower escape the facility, taking off from the roof in a helicopter.

Watching the news together, Stacy tells Stone and Kate that her mother is dead and she doesn’t know where her father is. Her father is Colonel Hightower.

JACK (71-years-old, ex-military, tall, muscular, tough as nails) arrives in Missouri. A Rager chases his van, thumping it. Jack stops, gets out of the van, and shoots the Rager in the eyes with his revolver, killing it. Jack arrives at Stone’s salon. He and Stone know each other. Stone introduces Jack to Kate and Stacy. Stacy looks familiar to Jack. He asks what her surname is. “Hightower,” she says, and Jack tells her he knew her father. Hasn’t seen him for 20 years.

Dr. Pantera and Hightower arrive at Facility 2. A dead Rager is inside the facility, being studied upon, and Dr. Pantera inspects it. Their bones are much thicker and stronger than human bones. He deduces that their eyes are their weak point—shoot them in the eyes to kill them. The sound of an explosion and the building shakes, then the sound of Ragers screaming. Hightower and a team of soldiers accompany the fleeing Dr. Pantera, shooting the Ragers in the hallways as they move along, until they escape from roof of the facility inside a helicopter.

Stone wakes up to the sound and smell of breakfast cooking—Kate and Stacy doing the cooking. The news claims that the creatures are using cattle farms as food sources so Kate asks Stone and Jack for their help checking up on her parents’ farm. Stone admits to secretly running guns since he got out of the army with Jack in 2011. Stone shows her and Stacy the guns. He gives them guns.

Jack and Kate are in Jack’s van, Jack driving. They blare music and speed toward the farm. A big Dozer is there. Jack kills it by shooting through the roof of its mouth. BILLY, Kate’s father, happens to be an acquaintance of Jack’s. Billy and Kate’s mother are going to Vegas. Kate is going to stay in Missouri with the gang. Billy gives his club to Kate; it protected him in Vietnam and now it’s hers. Meanwhile, Stone teaches Stacy to shoot at the salon.

Jack and Kate arrive back at the salon. Shortly after, JERRY and IVAN (Russian accent) arrive. They intend to set explosives around the building. Jack fetches bear traps from the basement and sets about setting them up around the perimeter with Ivan and Jerry while Stone watches from the rooftop. Colonel Hightower calls Stacy, asks to speak with Stone. He tells Stone that he and Dr. Pantera are trapped by the creatures and need help. Stone rushes to grab his special kilt with which is extra-strong and has pouches for ammunition. He puts the kilt on and grabs an M4 and his favorite blade.

At the facility, Stone gets separated from the group. Jack reaches Hightower and Dr. Pantera. Stone sprints through the city, trying to outrun the creatures. Radio antenna smashed, he can’t communicate with the others. Eventually, after much creature-killing, they reach one another. Deep in the facility, Dr. Pantera says they must locate and destroy Alien 13. Kate is attacked and knocked out, alive but barely. It’s just Stacy with her. She tries to get Kate to safety.

Eventually they make their way back to Stone. Kate is okay. Lots of creature-killing. Stone and the girls are reunited with Jack and co. Alien 13 appears and grabs Dr. Pantera. Both Dr. Pantera and Alien 13 vanish after a flash of light. Everyone is stunned until Colonel Hightower enters the room and says he knows where Dr. Pantera and Alien 13 are.
