Kendall was bullied as a young child so did not complete school. As he became older he was missing interaction with people so he began walking the diverse (Italian, Whites, Irish, Mexican and Polish) neighborhoods; developing relationships with everyone, enriching both their lives and Kendall's.


Kendall's parents and friend Judy died. Firehouse #23 adopted him. Through the years the neighborhood changed and was full of drugs and thugs. Kendall was beaten for $2. He died from complications at age 62. Over 2500 people from the old neighborhoods attended his funeral.
