Development Pitch

This story was compared to Arthur Miller's The Crucible. In that, it sees injustice and builds upon it. Miller found the Witch Hunt laws irresponsible and lacking of women's rights and I found the increase in minorities' imprisonment and overwhelming racism vital to the story. We both show the gruesome nature of the injustice, Miller shows the extreme of death and I showed the extreme of losing freedom. This story fits with the times about racial injustice in America and it shows the redeeming value of ex-convicts explaining the prison life and turmoil in the justice system. This story details how simple it is to go to prison and be changed by the system. Its what African-Americans have experienced for years, the brutality of the justice system, where they have been disenfranchised by the system and isolated as the only suspect. This is dedicated to all those who were accused of a crime that they did not commit and to their liberation, whether it be on earth or wherever they may be because this life can be hell and no one could tell how long you will be free. Life in the ghetto can be an ongoing struggle and poverty can lead to gang life. It is time that light be shed on this dire situation and open the eyes of the world. There's hope for the millions born into this situation every day and we can make it better for them if we give them justice and hope. This is my intent with this movie to show the world in which we live and offer hope for the future.
