But when it comes to glamour photography, he's a gold mine, or, in the words of publishing queen Daphne St. James, a "money making little toad." So when Herman hits upon the idea of creating the world's first Palendar - a calendar with a full-size poster for each month - Daphne is quick to agree to the project. And when Herman and his models are lost en route to the location shoot, she's even quicker to claim credit for the entire idea. Meanwhile, back on the island... What could be a dream situation for some men becomes a frustrating nightmare for Herman, as he struggles to make a life on an uncharted island with a dozen skimpily-clad lovelies, who want nothing to do with him. But when Herman reveals a plethora of survival skills, both sides find themselves at the bargaining table. Herman (a former crack Boy Scout!) constructs shacks and other conveniences for the girls. And his physical activity, in the tropical sun and heat, begin to reveal an altogether different look for Herman. The island begins to have a great leveling effect upon its inhabitants. And through adventure, danger, humor, and humanity, Herman and the ladies begin to discover buried traits and hidden virtues that had been long neglected. Beneath the laughs, a story of being human.

Michael McClendon is a writer/director/actor for both screen and stage. His feature film Stand Your Ground received a nomination for Best Picture and won the Bronze Best Drama at the ICVM Film Festival and won Best Picture at the PVI Film Festival, as well as numerous international awards. Michael's stage plays, Our Family Trouble and City Hall Cemetery have topped international playwriting festivals; his first collection of monologues, The Big Book of Monologues (www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com ) is now available, and the novel version of Stand Your Ground is ready for release. Recently completed screenplays for The Deep Dark (based on William Bean's novel Dark Force) and Take Me With You were followed by writing and directing the short film The Remember Box. His plays and screenplays have garnered awards at over 70 international film festivals and his first comedy, Hair Man's Girls won first place at both the New York Screenplay Festival and the Los Angeles Screenplay Festival. He is an accomplished actor with over forty years experience, appearing on stage and film with the likes of Tommy Lee Jones, Carroll O'Connor, Lily Tomlin, Julie Christie, Charles Durning, Patrick Swayze and Jessica Lange. Michael has been teaching, directing, and casting actors since the early 1970's, and he prefers to share his time with both film and theatre. He was recently named one of the five People To Watch in the Georgia Entertainment Industry. Michael's work as a theatrical director began in 1970 and continues today. Additionally, his skills as a film director were kept in shape by directing film shorts, commercials, industrials, and training films, and as an active member of the Screen Actors Guild. He has recently turned his attention to directing feature films, with Stand Your Ground, The Remember Box, Patchwork Dreams, Take Me With You and upcoming projects such as The Deep Dark and the screen version of Niki Rowe Cross's Like Daddy Used to Say...
