Development Pitch
This is a story that I've never seen made into a movie. It deals with a subject that I think many people believe but don't want to admit. The fact that the justice system isn't hard enough on criminals and many see little or no punishment while victims are scarred forever. I wrote this as a 'what if victims could administer their own justice' story. If the story stopped there it would not be complex enough to deserve adaptation. However, it doesn't stop there and in the end the officer receives the exact same treatment that he had endorsed. The ending is surprisingly hopeful, with the ex-wife of the officer using his life insurance money to open a treatment center for people who were abused. It works as a 'turning a negative into a positive' beat that is the final twist of the story.
