    What We Liked

    - The Author has an enjoyable and humorous writing style and the subject matter is
    relatable - a strong and entertaining voice that gets the point across;
    - There is no story to directly adapt, however, a story can be drawn with inspiration from
    the Author's tone, writing style and insights given in the book;
    - The lead can be a normal person navigating his/her life using the advice and techniques
    to avoid the stress of everyday situations, or it could be a person in extraordinary
    circumstances, desperate to get out of them, and daydreaming about escape;
    - Comedy would be a natural genre;
    - If adapted and developed for series, the protagonist would have to deal with a different
    event each episode that he/she would try to make through without losing their minds;
    - If adapted, the protagonist would be forced to endure an event or series of events, but
    with a big reward at the end, perhaps a romantic partner or a job.

    Synopsis

    The author states a vast list of rules and situations for better living, such as 'You shouldn’t take a fatalistic view of yourself,' 'Do not compare yourself to others and feel inferior, 'Don’t listen to other’s advice on how to come out of your shell’ and ‘Don’t expect others to understand.' Her goal is to establish a state of mind before the reader goes on to understand the actual science behind being an introvert. Their brains are literally different. Extroverts have a lower baseline of arousal. If not stimulated enough they can get depressed, bored, uncomfortable. Introverts have a higher baseline of arousal and if there’s too much stimulation they can become anxious and uncomfortable. Introverts don’t need to be pulled out of their shell.

    The book is comprised of independent sections, all about how an introverted person sees the world and how he or she can better function in various different situations. By using practical examples from everyday life, and pop culture in general, the author paints a wider picture based on scenes and sequences, which play out like a little film/series already.

    Her manifest includes: The Five Stages of Cancelling Plans, Eight Secret Reasons Introverts Make Great Leaders, Newton’s Three Laws of Introvert Motion, How To Make it Through Group Exercise Classes, 18 Amazing Inventions for Introverts, 37 Proverbs for Introverts, The Introverts Guide to Networking Events, Seven Ingenious Apps, and An Introvert Dictionary.

    Films and television shows such as "Freaks and Geeks", "Atypical", "Sex Education", and "Zombieland" are similar to the source material, and provide a glimpse into the way it can be adapted. The film "Zombieland" was provided as an example due to how the film portrays "survival rules for a zombie apocalypse" -- this technique could be used in an adaptation for this book. The shows listed are similar to the book in regards to the "coming-of-age" aspect of the material. The readers of this book are growing like the protagonists of these shows.
