Development Pitch
The Cobra and the Mongoose is a riveting murder mystery led by the protagonist FBI Special Agent Mikaela Foster better known as Micki. She and her partner Brett Martin are both seasoned veterans whose skills and experience has served them well. Set in Los Angeles the whodunit begins with a bombing in San Diego. Nothing suspicious so far. Nothing connected to L.A. yet. But in short order a man is found dead in New Mexico. Still nothing out of the ordinary. But as the body count starts to factor in L.A. that is where Micki and Brett begin to build their case. With a sardonic sense of humor and a healthy dose of skepticism, Micki needs it as she winds her way through a maze of intrigue and danger as they hone in on who is murdering men who back in the day where radicals during the sixties. When Micki and Brett talk to their survivors they are not shocked that they were hated to this day and would find irony in their deaths being investigated by feds of all people. As she goes deeper Micki and her boss realizes there may be a connection to Seattle. One there is a rising young entrepreneur named Dylan Parsons who has caught the attention of feds up there and also his father Noah was once a firebrand back in the day. Their superiors decide that Micki and Brett will go undercover and go to Seattle. For Micki it means getting close to Dylan and for Brett it means getting in a militia to find if there's a connection to a gun running operation.
