Development Pitch

The Poison Profession is a dark cyber-thriller about twenty-eight-year-old Louisa Clayman, who lives in London working as the CEO for Clayman Security. However, Louisa is secretly a Dark Web based assassin named Crail and works with her two brothers, Jack and Tom, to kill high profile enemies in assignments commissioned by western governments. The front of a complex money laundering scheme, Clayman Security is registered in the Solomon Islands and the siblings are left alone to do as they wish, living a hedonistic lifestyle outside of the law. This book has been described as a dark transgressive thriller with an unexpected twist and is based on ideas from 'Lord of the Flies' and 'Romeo and Juliet'. It is not a HEA ending and is not for fans of traditional romance although the story is based on the romance between Louisa and Rikard. The novel is fast-paced but not necessarily an easy read as it contains a lot of flashbacks and also another character is developed in parallel with the story. The reader only finds out how she (Akela) is related to the plot during the last chapters of the book. The Poison Profession is written for people who like transgressive characters - they are all a bit good and a bit bad. The ending is shocking and surprising and will make you cry. This is not a story for people who like predictable books with stereotypical characters. It also contains offensive language, graphic descriptions of sex, killing and drug use.
