The purge of ‘The Kulak’ – peasant victims of Stalin’s orgy of terror on ‘Capitalist Land Peasants’ commonly regarded as enemies of The Soviet State. The Kulaks’ fate was incarceration in the dreaded Siberian Gulags, forced labor camps where many were worked to death. Marc Rodin, European Correspondent for a London newspaper is commissioned to track down an old former Cold War Spy who worked for MI6 during the disastrous ‘Operation Jungle’ at the height of The Cold War. The West was dangerously close to loosing the battle of wits, and particularly in Berlin. MI6 assumed they could insert agents through the back door of Russia via The Baltic States of The Soviet Union to gather vital intelligence. Marc tracks his adversary across Southern France from The Pyrenees to Provence. His journey through present day France uncovers old spies who emerge from the shadows. A web of mystery and intrigue confronts him amongst the clandestine world of espionage including within Marc’s own family. Their secrets as far back as WW2 are exposed – secrets Marc had not been privy to until now. EYE SPY a historical fiction tells of a MI6 operation which was fatally flawed, resulting in serious loss of agents during The Cold War in The Baltic States. British Intelligence suspended the operation in 1955 due to increased loss of agents resulting in suspicions the operation had been compromised by The Soviet KGB.
