Imagine waking up in complete and utter darkness. Not knowing where the hell you are or how you got there. Feeling no pain. Unable to move or feel any part of your body. No senses – sight, sound, smell, touch, taste all inoperable. Nothing functioning – except your mind. That’s what has happened to Garry Franklin. Middle-aged, married, three children and totally bewildered, confused and just a little bit frightened. Random thoughts bombard his consciousness but eventually, with nothing else to do after the anxiety settles down a little, he thinks back over his life and tries to establish exactly what happened and just where he might be. Dead? Comatose? Buried? About to be cremated? All these possibilities interrupt his thoughts, but he eventually establishes where things went wrong and where he has to turn his attention to protect his family, which is in danger of being broken apart. Unwittingly he has become involved with a petty criminal who finds a way of using Garry’s youngest daughter to enable him to escape the financial pressure being levied upon him by more violent criminals. Garry has to combat his newly imposed handicap to prevent his daughter being subjected to drugs, violence and prostitution. And, in the process there’s the small matter of revenge to take into consideration.
