This is based on a true story about my father Mark Kongdara, as I narrate his story and journey of his time back in 60s, 70s, 80s, here's a man without a father figure, kids kicked out by stepfather at the age of 13, forced to join the military was his only mean of survival, his dream has been shattered in wanting to go to the US, he believed sleeping with as many women as possible was his idea of being a man but until he meant the old wise men in Vietnam when he was left behind from his own troop, became a pow. The old wise man had broke him down inside out, what does he truly want for himself and his future. Those wise men acknowledge that in order to get what he wants if he wants to go to us he has to believe in himself and if he wants the woman of his dream he has to make sacrifice of his own career as a soldier that he does not want to give up. The old man said once he make the sacrifice, you will find the love of your life and being a man is when you stick with one woman. He finds her at his release from the concentration camp, she was playing basketball and he yelled out I like number nine once she got his attention he was in love. By the fourth day she was gone, he found out that she left to Thailand to refugee camp and found her there. He built a good rapport with her cousin and they set up a dinner date and she fell in love with him. After she was missing during her process of getting sponsorship to the us to go to Boston, he thought he lost her again.
