A group of friends discovers a magical world threatened by shadow creatures wanting to drain all magic, including theirs. They must learn to use their powers to save their newfound friends and themselves before its too late.

I see this book as an adventure with a group of teenagers coming to Sanctuary and discovering a world of magic and mystery. A world where mermaids swim in the water, nymphs tie your shoelaces together and if you aren't careful gnomes will fling pottery at your head. A command center where other teenagers work with magical crystals called Crims that come alive in their hands to defend their world from the shadow creatures that threaten it. Telara and her friends must learn to work with an Alpha leader who shows nothing but contempt for them but yet is the one they need to show them how to use their powers and their Crims. When a mutual friend ends up in the hands of the shadow creatures they are both fighting they must team up together to bring their friend home and save the day. When all of Sanctuary join together no shadow can withstand their light.
