Short Summary
Three Scots leave for London in 1802. Twelve-year-old Jeremy Bleamy loses his father to consumption, then his mother jumps from London Bridge. Jeremy sets up shelter in a corner between two buildings. Working dangerous jobs he is threatened by gangs and orphan hunters. He struggles for his life.
Jeremy has persevered over the orphan hunters and helps put the gangs back in their place. The neighborhood now considers him a local hero. The sheriff gives him ownership of the corner lot and his friends band together to build him a proper home.
