A Renoir painting is stolen from a jewish family by Nazis at the start of ww2 mysteriously appears at a New York City auction house thirty years after the war following a chain of dramatic events.

The young boy is the sole survivor of the concentration camps. He is now a wealthy doctor in NY City and recognizes the Renoir painting up for auction as one stolen from his family. He wins the bid. Later that day he gets a mysterious visit from the foreigner who is a son of the Nazi officer
